National Night Out - August 7th, 2012 -

Helping communities come together to combat crime is the philosophy behind National Night Out, an event participated in by thousands of communities in all 50 states. Pendleton supports this free gathering wholeheartedly every August in Roy Raley Park. Sponsored by the Pendleton Police Department, National Night Out features crime prevention and neighborhood watch information. Plus, there's live entertainment, food, and such kid-friendly activities as gunny sack races, tug-o-war, bean bag toss, rock climbing, and dunk tank.

Umatilla County Fair - August 7th - 11th 2012 -

Based in Hermiston, Oregon near Pendleton, the Umatilla County Fair is one of the biggest annual events in the area. And 2012 marks its 100th anniversary. Begun in August, 1912, the first Fair was known as the Hermiston Dairy and Hog Show. Today, visitors are treated to fun, family-friendly rides, a lively livestock auction, a rollicking concert, action-packed rodeo, a spirited parade, and comfort food, like caramel apples. Pendleton Round-Up - September 12th - 15th 2012 -

Considered to be the top rodeo in the United States, the Pendleton Round-Up always takes place during the second full week of September. The Round-Up, which got its start in 1909, is a celebration in the grandest tradition of the west. Enjoy a classic rodeo, country music concert, parade, art shows, dances, and cowboy breakfasts.
One of main attractions is the Happy Canyon Indian Pageant & Wild West Show, the largest powwow put together by the Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Reservation. The show sheds light on the settling of the American West. Highlights include a portrayal of the ancient Native American way of life, the arrival of Lewis and Clark, and a reenactment of a frontier town's main street misadventures.
